Do you look SICK???

Journal Entry: Mon May 12, 2008, 4:57 PM

Have you ever had the flu? Did it ever last so long that you though you'd never get well? Have you ever felt like you've been run over with a Mac Truck or ached in every imaginable muscle group that it was easier to explain what didn't hurt?

Many people suffer from diseases that feel like this for days, weeks, months or even years on end. Some of these diseases include Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Schlerosis, Lupus, Lyme Disease, and many others. One thing to understand is that even though we don't 'look' sick or in pain, we are. So love and play with us GENTLY because we want to be loved and have interaction, it's just that you have to be gentle.

Here are some articles on Fibromyalgia and others to better inform you of these diseases. Pass the information on to others.

Fibromyalgia in the News

But You Don't LOOK Sick

Fibromyalgia

Ok, well that's about all the sad news one can stand for the day, so I'm done with bringing you all down. If you know of someone with one of these illnesses, remember , but not just fibromites all of these chronic diseases.

Yes, yes, yes and ...yes.

... and I didn't post a journal today for Fibromyalgia awareness either. :tears: Sometimes I forget in all of my effort to promote awareness of LMS that I need to recognize FMS too. It can be downright dangerous to have both. Thank you for doing this for both of us, honey.

Gentle hugs

 I didn't know you had fibro too. :( It is a terrible thing for you to have both. I hope you are doing okay.

Don't worry if you don't have the energy to do both. I was going to do something citywide and got sick. Good thing I didn't work on it last minute gusto-style, or I'd have left everyone holding the bag. ;p

Thanks hon. I did do a journal after I wrote this originally. I also linked your journal as a reference because you have the pertinent info. I hope that is OK with you.

I am doing as OK as possible. It can be very difficult to distinguish the difference between cancer pain and fibro pain. I am alive today because of an accidental discovery of the cancer. Otherwise Fibromyalgia would have prevented me from seeking potentially life saving cancer treatment and I would not be here to tell the tale. The moral of the story: get all of your regular cancer screenings and pray that you do not get some kind of cancer that is not screenable.

I sure hope you are feeling better now. We really have to learn to pace ourselves with this, don't we?

I'm terrible at pacing myself! I am starting to get screenings for certain cancers and other things. In order to start preparing a case for disability. I have less and less energy as each year goes by.
=e-CJ:icone-CJ: May 14, 2008, 1:24:00 AM
That is the sad part, that it just keeps progressing. The pursuit of ss disability will take a lot of energy, so it is good to start more sooner than later. I hope they are more reasonable about it than they were 10 years ago. You have my prayers.
