EDIT:
I've gone and done it. I shot a wedding!!!! OMG it was a blast! I really didn't want to leave....It turned out to be such a small wedding. The ceremony was fabulous. I think I enjoyed it being such a small ceremony. I hope I get to put up a shot from the service. We'll have to see once he processes the images. I took tons of shots. Agie said I'm a little shy...He doesn't know me very well! I do need to get INTO it more, but not really knowing what he expected, I was a little wary of going to far on my own. The bride and groom were so fabulous, too. The oddest thing was the amount of bridesmaids and groomsmen for such a small ceremony.
The reception was TINY. The dance floor was smaller than my bedroom. So I left the reception shortly after it began. He told me what he was going to do and what we would do if it had been larger.
Now, I just have to wait until tomorrow. If the next wedding is larger, he'll call me to help. :yay:
I'm a little tired. I think it may be a good thing that it was such a small event, so I can rest!
I will update more later!! END EDIT
Today's the day!!! I will be leaving in about 4 hours to shoot the wedding tonight. Then there is another on Saturday!! In case I'm too tired to get on, I want you all to HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

Ok, some of you know I was going for an interview to assist a wedding photographer. It only took me a year to get this interview.

Then another two weeks trying to get in touch with him for a firm date. The date came and so did an email, changing the appointment.

Finally, today I went for my appointment today during lunch. OMG,

over his equipment bag to say the least. He has 3 Canon 5Ds, one wide lens, one medium lens, one zoom lens

, one fisheye, and one 85mm lens all with 2.8f.

His backup bag has a 40D?
At first, even though I knew this guy, I was very nervous. I had to keep telling myself to calm down. Once he opened the door and let me in, I was calm as a cucumber. I wasn't quite sure how it was supposed to go. I mean I've interviewed for jobs before, but not like this....Really, it was more just talking about how he shoots more than anything. Well, that and how anal he is about where his stuff goes in his bag. But hey, I'd be anal too, so don't get me wrong. He has really good reasons why he's anal like that, so I admire that.

I made him show me all his gear twice. Once more just to

over it quietly while I memorized where the stuff goes.

So, I get to assist with two weddings this weekend.

I hope my body doesn't wear out. I really wanna do this...and if he likes my work, I'll get to do more and maybe even get paid. Right now I don't care about the money so much. It's all the things he's gonna teach me.

I mean, he's already taught me some about what kind of lenses to look for since we both use Canon equipment. That was exciting all on its own. Then he gave me some advice about shooting on my own, so I don't bury myself into too low of a price bracket. That is helpful, since I already have a fellow wanting me to shoot some stuff for his bike shop portfolio.
I got so engrossed in our conversation I was late back to work. Luckily everyone else was too, so they didn't even notice.

Ok, I'm so excited that I have already literally jumped up and down and said so to hubby and even went and bought new black shoes. I have to wear all black, which is fine, I like black, but I wanted some nice flat shoes. I'll break them in tomorrow.
Now, I'm off to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Not really, just sounded like a good way to end it.
